Crab Boil in a Bag (like at the Juicy Crab)

We’ve decided to share our recipe for a crab boil in a bag. We’ve looked all over the internet and have yet to find a good video on how to make one. My mom and I put our minds together and figured out how to make it even better than the more popular seafood restaurants. Grilled Crab Legs Recipe

Today we’re sharing a grilled crab legs recipe that we grill over an open fire, as well as cooking up some delicious summer succotash presented by Mrs. Barlow. Full recipe below!

Although we decided to use a fire pit, you can easily do this recipe using a charcoal or gas grill.

First, make some slits on the underside of each crab leg. Get your grill or fire up to medium high heat.

Melt a stick of butter, 2-3 roughly chopped cloves of fresh garlic, and about a 1/3 cup of Rose or white wine.

When fire is ready, throw crab legs on. Brush both sides with melted butter mixture and season liberally with Creole seasoning or your favorite spices. Cook legs until warm, approx 10 minutes depending on how hot your fire is.

2-3 ears fresh cut corn cut in half
1 zucchini cut in 1/2 slices
1 yellow squash cut in 1/2 slices
1/2 pound fresh green beans

1 cup Greek yogurt (whole fat is best)
2 or more cloves fresh minced garlic
1/4 cup fresh minced parsley
1/4 cup mixed fresh herbs
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup olive oil

Whisk salt, pepper, greek yogurt and oil together. Fold in herbs. Drizzle dressing on to cooked succotash and serve.

Crabs make a simple and elegant dinner. Since crab can be expensive if you’re eating in a restaurant, try cooking crab at home. If you’re pressed for time, you can ask the person at the seafood counter or market to kill the crabs before you take them home (you’ll just need to use them immediately). You can also humanely kill your crabs at home before cooking them. Once your crabs are ready for cooking, decide if you’d like to steam them to keep their sweet flavor. You can also boil crab to cook it quickly. Crabs also do well when cooked on the grill.
You can often buy crabs already cooked and cleaned, but the best-tasting crabs are crabs you’ve cooked yourself. Chilling crabs after cooking them doesn’t ruin the flavor, but it does diminish it a bit. For the sweetest, most tender crab, try cooking it at home.

Japanese Street Food – GIANT COCONUT CRAB Seafood Okinawa Japan

The coconut crab (Birgus latro) is a species of terrestrial hermit crab, also known as the robber crab or palm thief. It is the largest land-living arthropod in the world, and is probably at the upper size limit for terrestrial animals with exoskeletons in recent times, with a weight of up to 4.1 kg (9.0 lb). It can grow to up to 1 m (3 ft 3 in) in length from leg to leg.

The large size of the coconut crab and the quality of its meat means that the coconut crab is extensively hunted and is very rare on islands with a human population. The coconut crab is eaten by Southeast Asians and Pacific Islanders and is considered a delicacy and an aphrodisiac.

The pincers of the coconut crab are powerful enough to cause noticeable pain to a human; furthermore, the coconut crab will often keep its hold for extended periods of time.
